Well, the network device icon (like the spider's web) has a little red x on it - something is wrong with the network connectivity to the whole VM.

If you click on the spider's web, what options are ticked? I have found the most painfree way of running networking in Parallels is the "Shared" option. I think "Bridged" is the default.

That "Disconnect" is ticked should raise a flag.

Select the top option, Shared, which enables the network card. Confusing a bit, given there is another Shared option already ticked (third option)

    Hey,

You need to enter than command into a Terminal (command line) window. The Terminal application is in Utilities folder.

It will ask you for the root/admin password.

To learn about these command line tools, when you get into the command line, type "man sudo" and "man kextload".
