    Greetings.

I was running PD3 with no problems (virtual HD). I installed PD4 with no apparent problems, but when XP starts a BSOD appears after no more than a few seconds. Before I can see what the error is, XP tries to start again. The same thing happens in Safe Mode. Where do I go from here?

    Thanks.

More information: I uninstalled and reinstalled PD4. The problem starts during the installation of Parallels Tools. That installation stops in the middle and says it must be completed manually. After that the BSOD appears when the VM starts, just after the drivers are loaded.

Probably the same issue I had: did you install XP SP3 from Parallels instead of Boot Camp? (Assuming you are using Boot Camp)

    If so: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5447

The slipstreaming didn't work for me - I had to roll back to SP2 during the repair install.

No, I am not using Boot Camp.

However, I just reinstalled PD3 (which I'll use until an answer appears for my PD4 problem), and I noticed that my VM is XP SP3, not XP2.

    Thanks for the response!
