I'm having trouble after upgrading to Parallels 4.0 on my boot camp windows os. Once booted up, everything works properly until I release the mouse (using ctrl+alt) or, when the guest os window is on my external display, i drag the mouse off of the external display onto my main laptop display. I have to shut down the VM and reboot it again.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling parallels tools, nothing works.

Quite the same annoying problem here...

Just upgraded to v4 and when I start my Bootcamp XP2 partition in Parallels, I can click around as long as I don't release the mouse (ctrl+alt) or hit any key on the keyboard. Afterwards I can't move the mouse pointer anymore. The keyboard also doesn't work at all.

    Any help highly appreciated!
    Kind regards, Lars

found i have the same problem here. keyboard triggers the stale window too.

I can still move the moust pointer, and it still has the white color as if it is a windows pointer (instead of the black OS X pointer); however, clicking doesn't work on anything (start menu, icons, quick launch). All view modes have this behavior, including coherence.

I'm going to try clearing my boot camp partition and reinstalling windows with a fresh install of PD4. I'll post results once I find out what happens.

Hmm... probably I found a workaround...

My Windows device manager listed one Unknown Device under 'Keyboards'. Using a rightclick I've activated the Unknown Device and my mouse and keyboard immediately went stale again. Then I shut down the virtual machine and rebooted again. Ups, I know have a "Standard 101 keys keyboard" listed instead of an Unknown Device and everything seems to work fine. Will do further tests now.

    Good luck, Lars

I did the same thing under device manager and just hit "uninstall" for the unknown keyboard device. Everything seems to be working fine now, I guess it was a conflicting or extraneous driver.

I'll post further if I find more problems.
