    Hi;

    I started my upgrade to 4.0 but one of the install screens had this message -

    "Parallels Desktop 4.0 and Parallels Desktop 3.0 cannot be simultaneously installed on your Mac.

    Note: You will need to upgrade your virtual machines before starting to work with them. This process may take some time to complete."

    The part I'm concerned with is the "Note:" part. My version of Windows came with Virtual PC and needed to be updated to SP2 which was a real hassle. Am I going to have to do this again or what does the "upgrade your virtual machines" mean?

    TIA!

    Murman,

    Upgrade means that the virtual machine hardware will be upgraded, which will require a certain OS upgrade procedure.

    Having in mind that your VM originally came from VPC and that there's a known issue with such VMs upgrade in the actual build, I strongly recommend you to wait for the next update that we are almost ready to publish.

    Hi Tim:

    Thanks - is there a time limit on activating or registering this new (free to me as I purchased not too long ago) upgrade and still get the free upgrade?

    murman,

    No time limit at all. Just keep an eye on the forum, we will announce the build that fixes upgrade of VPC VMs very soon.
