Sorry Parallels.com, but posting on this forum is the only means I have left to reach someone in support. I've given up on the maze that you have made of your website, and I am having problems setting up my email on my new iMac, so I can't contact you by going through help in the Parallels Desktop 3 program.

First problem I need a solution for: In Parallels Desktop 3, the CapsLock key on my iMac does not work normally; it has just the opposite effect that it is supposed to have. When I press and activate the CapsLock key, it lights up and types all lower case letters until I deactivate that key. When I deactivate the CapsLock key, it types all upper case letters. When I exit Parallels Desktop 3 and work on the Mac side, the CapsLock key returns to its normal function. How do I make the CapsLock key work normally in PD3? Is this a bug in the program?

Second problem I need a solution for: I purchased PD3 on 28 Oct 08 and qualified for a free upgrade to PD4. On 12 Nov 08, I followed all of your instructions to-the-letter and submitted my upgrade request on your website that same day. Your website acknowledged that ". . . your files were successfully submitted" and that "Your upgrade key for Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac will be delivered to your email within 5 business days." It is now 2 Dec 08 and I have still not received my free upgrade key. My email address was entered correctly in the upgrade request form. In addition, I just registered on this forum with that same email address, so you should have it available to you. If you need me to resubmit my request for the free upgrade, just let me know. When can I expect to receive my free upgrade key for PD4?

    Thanks,

    Parallels, Inc.,

You have a great deal of support from the tech community at large, but it will rapidly erode if issues like this persist. At a minimum, it might be benefecial to at least appear to feign interest in your patient and paying customers. VMWare has the advantage of powerful brand recognition. That fact alone, in my opinion, presents enough of a challenge with two very similar products.

Remember, we're still cheering for you, but we also have work to get done.
