hi i've just tried increasing my xp guest os from 8gb to 9gb. the parallels software shows the increased disk size but when i boot xp and check properties for the drive it is still 8gb. has anyone out there tried this with success? thanks. dani

This issue comes up frequently. XP does not automatically detect a change in the disk size. You need to use a tool like Partition Magic to change the size of the drive.

You can also use GParted (it's free), go to http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ and download the LiveCD. Tell Parallels to boot from the CD, the rest should be self-explaining.

But try searching the forums for further pointers/caveats, just as Mark said: it's not an uncommon topic.
