I have recently installed the full release of Parallels Desktop on my iMac Core Duo, using Win XP Home. This works very well, except for the following :-

When I double-click on the Shared folder within Windows, it takes a very long time (10-20 secs) to respond and open, as do folders within the Shared folder.

What is causing this, is there a setting which can be altered to improve things, or is it a bug ?

It's a Windows issue. Map the UNC path to a drive letter. It'll perform much faster.

Isn't this what the Shared folders tool does already ?

No, it shows it a remote network drive. You'll need to right click on it and click on "map netowrk drive" in the menu. This may or may not speed it up. I've tried it and it did not speed it up for me. I am seeing much longer wiat times than you too though, so I might have a diffrent problem than yours.
