I can't get my windows xp to work correctly or my quickbooks program. My computer freezes when I try to use my USB flash drive to save the little work I have been able to do. Can anyone help me? I was getting error messages from the beginning of the process.
I just bought this XP disk. I followed the install directions. The Apple is NEW, the disk is NEW and The error messsages were right off the bat! The first ERROR message read: Unable to allocate memory for monitor PE. I went to the parallels web site for help. Following the....Don't Panic! Our friendly technical support staff is ready to help. Written so nicely in their USER MANUAL. HA!!!! I haven't touch my new computer since Saturday, because I can't get ANY HELP.
I don't understand why parallels doesn't offer Free phone support like Apple and most other companies.
I have a business to run. I need quickbooks payroll etc. I bought this Apple and parallels to make my life easier... I bought the computer and all on Monday the sixth. I'm still using my old laptop, because I can't get the new system to work without freezing.
Quicken users must make a back up copy of Quicken data before installing either a new version of Quicken or installing Microsoft Money. Regular backups of Quicken data is essential to avoid losing all Quicken data in the event of a hard drive failure. To make a back up copy of the Quicken data file: 1. Start Quicken and click on File, then click on Backup. 2. Set the file location: * To temporarily store backup files during an install, set the file location to your desktop. * To permanently store backup files, copy files to external drive or to another place 3. Five files will appear on your Windows Desktop or will be copied to the CD with the file extensions QTX, QSD, QPH, QEL and QDF. These are your back up data files. 4. Simply delete the files on your desktop when you are sure you no longer need them, after you have been using the new version of Quicken or Microsoft Money for some time. If you backed up to a disk, be sure to store it in a safe place.
This is not technical support, this is forum. Technical support is there http://www.parallels.com/en/support/desktop/
same problem here Exact same problem, only I was using Parallels 2.5 before, which _doesn't_run_ on Leopard (and doesn't just crash itself, but freezes the entire machine--horrendously unacceptable), so I'm completely hosed: can't use the old version, can't use the new version. Crappy job, Parallels.
