    problem 1.
ok so I installed parallels a couple of weeks ago, and it has worked fine (running windows vista home premium 32 bit). I wanted to play some games on it, and I heard that bootcamp works better with games, so I installed vista on bootcamp as well. I ended up having problems with bootcamp, so I opened up bootcamp assistant and deleted the partition for bootcamp, so I could return to using parallels.

but now when I open up parallels/my "virtual machine" and press start, it opens with the windows start up of "Windows was not shut down properly" ( I don't remember if I did shut it off wrong or not, but I guess I must have at some point) and asks me whether to start up in normal mode, or the safe modes. I've tried all 4 modes and I get the same thing every time

after showing the vista loading screen and saying Welcome, it automatically just opens up into my documents folder Full Screen...and if I close it or minimize it then there is just a blank black screen behind it, I can only see my mouse and can't click on anything. I've read of others having a similar problem, but they can press Control alt delete to see the task manager, while that doesn't work in my case. even though I'm in my documents, I can't open up anything. It just says "Windows can not open up Administrator/documents/(whatever it may be).

I don't know whether this is because I used windows on bootcamp for a bit, and you're not supposed to do that? or if it's some other random problem.

    But either case, HELP PLEASE!!!

    Problem 2.
so as I said, I deleted the partition for Boocamp. I've seen videos and it looks as if when you turn on your mac with bootcamp on it, it's supposed to ask you which (mac or windows) you want to start up, but mine just automatically went to windows, which is really annoying. and now that I've takin off windows/the partition, when I start up, it goes to a black screen that says something along the lines of "please insert a readable boot disc" (for windows).

I've found out that I can hold down the option key and the power on button at the same time, and THEN it'll give me the option to go to mac, but it's still really annoying to have to do that everytime, and shouldn't the default OS be Mac, not the windows side?

and what doesn't make sense is that, when I hold the option key it ONLY gives me the option for mac (because again I deleted the windows partition) so how could it start up going to the windows side/"insert boot disc" screen if there is no windows side in the first place!!

someone please help, I've been a mess trying to figure this out!!! : (

    ok so update:

right after making that first message, parallels prompted me to upgrade to 4.0 (I swear I already have done that though)

so I do, and I enter my activation key in. and it downloads new parallels tools, but can't fully install, them, it just comes to an error that says restart parallels and try again, but still the same thing.

o and btw in the background I can still see just my windows documents, then a blank screen.

    MORE PROBLEM!! help!
