I got my Parallels Desktop with my Intel Mac a couple years ago, but am just now needing to run some Windows programs and am completely lost. I need to purchase a copy of Windows XP, but see all different flavor. The program I will be running (Vectric Aspire) will run on Windows XP home addition, but the only ones I can find to purchase are the OEM versions, whatever that is.

My question... What is an OEM version and will it run on Parallels Desktop for Mac (I really don't want to run Vista, because I will be running MACH3 for a CNC router on a PC I am purchasing, and do not want to have a problem sending a newer MS version output to an older operating system.

I hope this makes sense to you folks... I have been using Apples since before hard drives were used on desktops, and this is my 1st venture into the PC operating system...

    Intresting...

I saw it advertized for sale on the Tiger Direct and Staples websites. Check for yourselves. I wouldn't think they would be selling illegal software. MS would most likely sue them in a second if they were...

Perhaps the law has changed, or Parallels has made an error. If it IS legal to use, would it work on Paraallels Desktop?
