    Hello,

I have a 120GB .hdd virtual hard disk, and am using Parallels 3.0. Try as I might, I cannot find a way to shrink the size of the virtual hard disk. I've removed a large amount of content from the hdd, and the used space is a mere fraction of the reserved space. I would be similarly satisfied with merely creating a second virtual hard disk, and copying the contents to the second disk, yet cannot figure out how to do that, either. Please advise. Thanks!

    kberg,

Please use Parallels Image Tool from Applications -> Parallels. Select the appropriate virtual disk, click on continue and select "Compact the disk".

    This should work.

Peter, there is no 'Compact the disk' option. Are you sure you're not referring to Parallels 4?

    1. Make sure you do not have Snapshots
    2. Start Parallels Desktop Holding Command key
    3. Hard Disk 1 - Advance - Compact

The solution was, thanks to Peter Canasius J L,

    ***************
To reduce the size of the Virtual Machine Hard disk size.
    1) Open Parallel Desktop.
    2) Start the Virtual Machine.
    3) On the Menu bar click on Action.
    4) Run Parallels Compressor.
    5) Follow the online instruction that pops up step by step.
    6) You will be an option to compress the Virtual Machine. So enter the size that you would want your Virtual Machine to be.

    This should work.

    Thanks Peter!
