whenever there are 30 minutes left and the network installation ends, my windows xp installation on a macbookpro keeps reseting and start again on osx 10.4.7...

i try all network settings in paralles and also put on and off the networkcard on my mpb but the reset occurs every time

has there anybody an idea? can it be because i used nlite to make a xp pro cd with build in sp2 and let it also the new patches integrate into it via http://sereby.german-nlite.de ?

on my pc the cd installs quite good and so i wonder what went wrong with paralles?

I had a similar issue the first time I installed BootCamp - the XP installer didn't reset the startup disk, so it booted into OSX after the first reboot. Option-booting and selecting the XP disk manually allowed installation to continue.

However, I don't *think* that should have been a problem under Parallels, since it runs inside OSX in its own virtual space. There is a reboot that occurs about mid-installation of XP, which would sync up quite nicely with the timing of your reboot -- but normally at that point, it boots from the HDD and continues the installation.

You're not by any chance telling to to boot from the CD during that reboot, are you?

i can't say if the error occurs also on bootcamp, but i will try it later

i am pretty sure that i don't tell the system in the mid-install-reset, that it should start again from the cd, but when no one else had this error, then its maybe a nlite error, because i let nlite handle the installation by itself, so that i dont have to fill out the serial number and made my cd in april and meanwhile a new nlite version came out, so that maybe thats an error which is no longer there

i will in that case, try to install it from my non patched xp cd with no sp1 or sp2 on it, am pretty sure that it will run...

    thanks for the fast help

Worth a try in any case. Let us know how it goes.

ok try it today to slipstream my xp

the result was that a cd slipstreamed normal and also added and integratet the tools of the site http://sereby.german-nlite.de/index.php was all right

but as soon as i also use the normal nlite afterwards to integrate the username, password and so on for an automatically installation, and also change the max open connections to 49 the same error occurs as described above
i also saw that in the nlite options was a point in which one could change the behavior of the cd so that it will autoboot
maybe one of those points messed up with the emulation but on a normal pc the cd just installs fine

but now i am happy that i can use paralles and i wonder if the install cd will run on bootcamp :)
