Anyone figured out how to print from Ununtu to a printer attached to the USB port of an Airport base station?

Just go to the Ubuntu Print Manager and enable the Menu "Detect LAN Printers".

After a few seconds, the printer should show up in Gnome Print Manager. If prompted for drivers, just use the Generic Postscript Driver.

While you're at it, you may want to install SupaPDF Lite (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/supapdflite.html) on your Mac so you can generate PDFs from any print-capable app from Ubuntu as well.

javester, unfortunately, when I enable "Detect LAN Printers," nothing appears in the Gnome Print Manager. I tried it several times.

FWIW, I installed Apple's Bonjour print manager in XP, and it instantly found my Airport USB printer.

Thanks for your help, but I am not shure what to try next. Thanks again.
