    Hi,

A friend's mum is planning to switch to a MacBook (Dual Core) running Parallels, and was asking me what version of XP she should buy, Home or Pro. I noticed that XP Home only supports one processor, whilst Pro supports two. If she is running Parallels on a Dual Core Mac, should she buy XP Pro to take advantage of both cores, or does this not make a difference?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave.

Parallels only uses one core anyway, so it makes no difference.
To clarify though, on a 'normal' (i.e. not virtualized) Windows PC with 2 cores, XP home will run fine, it will only use one core though. You may as well save the money and buy Home in this case, Parallels only uses one core and this leaves one core free for all your Mac OSX apps.
