I upgraded to the latest beta. After installing the latest Microsoft Security updates (XP Pro), the VM would crash after login with a 0x0000008E stop code. This apparently has something to do with memory. I tried repairing the windows installation, but at the end of the first install cycle (when it prepares to reboot from the hard drive) the VM would crash with another memory error (something about pageing in an invalid area). I reverted to the released version, and the repair appears to be going fine. There must be some type of memory problem in the latest beta. Hope this helps track down the problem. I am having the same problem... I am getting the exact same issue. My machine starts up, I get the Windows startup progress bar, and then it crashes and restarts. I installed the security updates yesterday from Microsoft.
