Under what condtions does Parallels change the size characteristics of other OS X Windows? As an example, if I have a "terminal" window open under OS X, and then open and run XP via Parallels in fullscreen, then when I come out of Parallels, the terminal windows which were say 80x59 become say 80x20 (don't have the exact numbers handy, but hope you get the point). What's up with that?
The same thing has been happening to me. Seems like any and all windows are resized when Parallels quits or comes out of full screen mode.
I have not seen this myself. I would check that parallels is not changing the screen resolution. That would be the only way I could think for parallels to muck with other app's windows.
Mine does this as well. All open OSX windows' height gets halved. It also wiped my OSX desktop image back to the default blue.
unused_user_name, how do we check that parallels is not changing the screen resolution? This is possible, but do you mean Windows app changing resolution and then restoring it? I know we've played games which do such. But then wouldn't it be restored?
changing screen resolutions Take a look at the PD Preference pane "User Interface". It has a section called "Fullscreen Options". Turn off the two checkboxes to prevent PD from changing resolution. Hope this helps.
