    Hi all,

I'm new to mac, and parallels so please forgive me if this is a no-brainer.
While I am in my XP virtual machine, I connected my external HD and on my system tray it displayed that it had been connected. However, when I try to access it from My Computer, or through Word, it does not show up. I have downloaded the new beta update, and I have enabled USB recognizer in my parallels program. Does anyone know how I can make it display under my computer? It allows me to connect and remove it, just not use it.

    Many, Many thanks in advance!
    Matthew

I've got the same problem -- don't know what the issue is here.

USB support is still not perfect, part of the issue seems to be device support. Meaning the little chips inside your external HD that convert parallel ATA or Serial ATA to USB need to be supported through Parallels. I have 3 such devices, two work, one doesn't, its still seems to be a case of ymmv.
