first , there was no internet cnnection. everytime i hit explorer i get the error page.
i thne set up a connection ( home connection) from within windows sp.
i turned off my Mac fire wall
i then turned off the fire wall on my PC which is connected to ADSL

since my Mac is wirelessly connected ( airport express) window showed two monitor icons in the task bar, one for LAN and one for the ADSL , traffic started to flow but Explorer refused to work

The first diagnosis is seeing which IP addresses are you getting for both network connections. If you get something like 169.xxx.xxx.xxx that's a private IP that windows uses when it can't assign a valid IP to a given interface.
I assume you're connecting to ADSL via a router which provides a DHCP service. If that's the case, the addresses should be something like 192.168.xxx.xxx (all home/small routers come with a predefined class C network).
With that information we can continue diagnosing the problem.
