Just purchased a 20" Core 2 Duo iMac.

Downloaded the beta of parallels so I can run those one or 2 windows apps that I still need but it just won't start. When i try and open it, it parallels bounces in the dock for a while but it doesn't open. Ends up locking the whole computer up and I have to do a hard reset.

    I've tried 1908, 1896.2, 1892.2 and 1898.

I would love to get this working so I don't have to use Boot camp.

    Any ideas guys?

    Thanks

I've got a 20" iMac Core 2 Duo machine and Parallels runs perfectly - how much memory have you got?

There is a sticky at the top with details of a new build for machines with more than 2GB of RAM

Try posting your VM settings, and maybe we can help then...

I've only got the standard 1GB RAM.

I can't post my setting because I haven't even gotten that far. Parallels itself won't even start. I double click on the icon to start parallels and it just bounces in the dock for about a minute then stop. If i click on it it says it's not responding. I can't kill the app or restart my mac. I have to hold down the power button to hard reset it.

    Thanks
