I have one last application that I need to port to WinXP running under Parallels. It's a DOS program that is used to configure a device that controls my house's lighting. If I purchase a USB to Serial Adapter, can I expect it to work? Is there a particular adapter that is better then others?
I have successfully used the BAFO-810 USB to serial adapter to connect to Cisco routers. http://www.onsale.com/shop/detail.a...6&cpncode=11-14793670-2&wt.mc_id=BWBPRICEGRAB [I didn't buy it from onsale.com, but that is the unit I bought.] You'll need the new prolific drivers to work on an Intel Mac: http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31 Choose Mac OS 10.4 link from this page. http://www.prolific.com.tw/support/...S/MacOS 10.x/md_pl2303H_HX_X_dmg_v1.2.1r2.zip
I have also successfully used a Micro Innovations USB610A to talk with my Garmin Streetpilot 3 GPS. YMMV...
