i'm curious if it's possible to migrate an existing installation of winxp on a gateway machine into a virtual machine on a mac osx machine, or if i would have to install and reconfigure os, accounts, settings, applications etc...as i think about it i would guess the os is registered to the hardware somehow after the instal probably not possible, but maybe the accounts could be moved without the xp install?

thanks in advance for any info.

You could move it, but would you want to?

Windwoes is a classic for trying to work around problems(bill knows best) instead of requiring a positive fix. You would have the poor fat thing running in circles.

If it were me, a reinstall would be happening. It's the only way to stop windohs from creating a huge mess of itself.

ya, windows doesn't really like to be useful too often...and i use it all the time, but i would just reinstall it. i've had very bad luck trying to move windows installs and parts of them. i've ended up with phantom accounts and alot of strange things.
