I have installed Windows XP succesfully using parallels on my Intel Mac OSX. I am trying to install Mac OS 8 as another guest but as yet to no avail.

I have an original set up disc and highlighted the check box CD ROM from the boot options. But I get a message in the console view box that it can't find anything to install. I have also made the disc an iso image and tried installing that way, but that has not worked.

    All ideas/information welcomed!

    Thanks, LV69

No mac OS is supported as a guest OS. Apparently a whole bunch of licencing issues. I know this doesn't help, but at least you know.

The main issue isn't the license, but that an OS 8 Mac ran only on PowerPC machines. So virtualizing an x86 is useless if you want to do that, what you want is an emulator. Search the web for SheepShaver. Maybe you'll need to use Parallels anyway since it seems to exist only for BeOS/Linux.

Sheepshaver is available for OS X too. It even has an entry at MacUpdate.
