Is it necessary to reinstall XP after upgrading to build 1940? I cannot find my old virtual machine file anywhere. I grabbed all the .pvs files from the trash, but none worked-all say that I have no OS on my VM, even though I was able to use XP without any problem (once I lowered the RAM) on my old build. I am afraid that I accidentally overwritten the old virtual machine file when I upgraded. Thanks, Andrew
Trashed VM files Assuming that I did trash my VM files (which wouldn't surprise me), what is the best way to recover? Can I start a new VM that links to my already installed XP, or should I just start from scratch (and reauthorize Windows after doing a fresh install?) Thanks, Andrew
If your VM files are gone, you'll have to create a new one and re-install XP, re-authorize, re-install 1000 Windows updates.
