Is it necessary to reinstall XP after upgrading to build 1940? I cannot find my old virtual machine file anywhere. I grabbed all the .pvs files from the trash, but none worked-all say that I have no OS on my VM, even though I was able to use XP without any problem (once I lowered the RAM) on my old build. I am afraid that I accidentally overwritten the old virtual machine file when I upgraded.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

No need to reinstall XP. Sounds like you trashed your VM files.

    Trashed VM files

Assuming that I did trash my VM files (which wouldn't surprise me), what is the best way to recover? Can I start a new VM that links to my already installed XP, or should I just start from scratch (and reauthorize Windows after doing a fresh install?)

    Thanks,
    Andrew

If your VM files are gone, you'll have to create a new one and re-install XP, re-authorize, re-install 1000 Windows updates.

Do you realize that you posted this twice? Discussion of the same subject on two threads is confusing. Please edit your post on this thread to include a pointer to the other thread.
