no sound with XP in 1940

    i updated to release 1940 and i no longer hear any sound from windows XP. mac os x plays sound and i haven't changed any windows settings. any ideas how to get the sound back?

    I am having the same trouble! I have no clue as to whether anything is playing on my VM XP Pro. I need to figure this out as I am trying to install a USB microphone.

    Same here

    I've got the same problem with same symptoms and background. When I remove the device from the Device Manager and reboot, XP tries to find a driver and starts installing files, but it says that some file is missing.

    (the file size limitation of <40k in this forum is too small ... i had to strip the pic down in size manually a LOT.)

    I installed the latest Realtek AC97 audio drivers and the sound returned. I also installed the latest build of Parallels before that, but it didn't help.
