I just tried to install Parallels on my new iMac from a purchased CD. It seemed to install properly going through the various windows, but the program does not show up in the applications folder even after a reboot.

I therefore can't open the program to continue the process. Any ideas?

I suggest that you download and install the latest internal build. There is a link in the thread about it at the top of the Parallels Desktop for Mac forums list.

    Two issues here:

First, the version on disk won't work on core 2 duo machines. You need to download the latest version and install it. The key included in the box will work for either version.

Second, the Parallels app isn't installed in applications -- the installer creates a folder called parallels in applications and installs the app there (/applications/parallels/parallels.app)
