Parallels prompts for tool upgrade, but tools already upgraded

Whenever I unsuspend my Windows XP guest OS on Parallels build 1970, Parallels tells me "The version of Parallels Tools you are using is inconsistent with the currently installed version of Parallels." and recommends I update the Tools, even though I've updated the tools (and rebooted Windows) twice since upgrading to build 1970, and "About Parallels Tools Center" says I'm running Build 1970 (31.10.2006) of the tools.

Does anyone else see the same problem or know the solution?

    Does Windows XP reboot help?

No, rebooting Windows XP doesn't help. After each time Parallels installed the tools, the installer prompted me to reboot Windows, and I did. But I still see the message about having outdated tools.

I have the exactly the same problem running build 1940 with Windows 2K. Re-installing tools doesn't seem to make any difference. Once I dismiss the warning, things seem to otherwise function normally.

If you have this problem please just disable this warning. It is probably bug in guest tools version detection. We will fix it in upcoming updates.
