    Hi -

I'm trying to increase the size of my xp virtual hard disk and have used the Parallels image tool utility as instructed.

All seems to have gone correctly, but when I open my XP VHD, the increase is not indicated.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

    Thanks...

I haven't done this myself, but my understanding is, the hard disk may indeed have been increased, but the partition containing the OS won't be since that's controlled by the OS. If you go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management, then choose Storage/Disk Management, you should see the additional hard drive space as unformatted space.

You have two choices, format this as a separate partition or use something like gparted to increase the size of the current partition - formatting as a separate partition is the least dangerous option.

Edit: I just tried this myself and the extra disk space doesn't show up in the Windows OS. I'm going to look into this a bit more. I've a feeling I read a thread about this some time ago.

Edit 2: Doh! There's a sticky thread about this at the top of the page.
