    Hi there,

This just started happening with latest release, Parallels 1970. When I am retrieving e-mail in Outlook Express 6 or Outlook 2003 the VM stops responding, completing locking up my iMac Intel Core Duo. I cannot switch back to my iMac at all. Usually I run Parallels in full-screen mode. No keys or the mouse will work when it locks up. I have to shut the iMac down and restart it again.

Any ideas on how to remedy this please? TIA.

XP slow + Mac Kernel panic

I am having a similar issue where the Guest (XP) CPU and one of the Mac CPUs both go to 100%. I'm trying to track down which process may be tying up all the resources, but it seems to be one of the svchost.exe's and I can't find any additional information on it with Process Explorer (a handy Windows program for looking at processes).

I tried to take the network out of the picture on the guest side by disabling the guest NIC from the device manager and it CRASHED MY MAC!?! I got a window that came up indicating I had to pres the restart button (no such thing on a Macbook, is there?) or hold down the poer key for several seconds.

I have determined it is not Outlook, because after rebooting I did not fire up Outlook and the pegged process still happens. Also, I disabled the real-time scanning on the anti-virus, so that does not seem to be it either.

I have another OS image that was copied from the same root image (XP Pro plus Outlook Pro plus all SPs and such) that is not encountering this issue. I HACE verified they have unique MAC addresses.

I'll post more if I get anything useful.

The guest OS is pretty clean:
XP Pro with all SPs and hotfixes applied
Office 2003 Pro and with all SPs and hotfixes applied
    CA eTrust Antivirus 7.1.192
    Build 1970 Parallels Tools
    IE 7

It is set up with bridged ethernet and at the time the network connection was via the Airport

Kernel Panic Report from the Mac follows:

I'm seeing the CPU peg to 100% (VM and one of the CPUs on my MBP) when starting or stopping Word and when working in Outlook, such as when opening a new mail message (which also uses Word). This started in build 1970 and continues in build 3106.
