I am very interested in Parallels as a solution for legacy gaming. By this I mean older titles, generally requiring less than a Pentium II 233 on Windows 98, using at most DirectX 2D. Titles like, Baldur's Gate, Monkey Island 3, Nox, and many other 2D titles from the mid to late 1990's.

I'd be very interested in experiences of any users out there doing this now. I've heard some reports of graphical glitches and audio problems. I would think these would be mostly driver issues/hardware emulation issues. Does anyone know if this sort of thing is being worked on? How about experience with even older DOS titles compared to, say, DOSbox?

DOS and Windows 3.1, as of the latest unofficial builds of DOSBox, now work better than VMWare, VirtualPC or Parallels. They've done a great job in the last year.

Download DOSBox 0.65 then copy ykhwong's unofficial build over it (assuming you have Windows already). See the thread http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=9306 and download the update from November 6.
