    Hi,

    first here :p

Some ideas for the next release of Parallels Workstation:
    - Convert hdd image files to iso files and vice versa
    - Boot from USB devices like USB memory sticks (useful in my case to start Norton Ghost or Acronis Disc Director from my memory stick which is already bootable)
    - Native support for Windows Vista

Some more options for the Image Tool like:
    - Convert third party hard disc images (like VMware or from Microsoft) to Parallels hard disc image
    - Convert a hard disc partition (not the whole disk) to a Parallels image file.

Just some ideas and perhaps others can jump in here.

    Thx,
    Roaster

    Hello!

    Some requests from me:

    1. WHQL certification for drivers.

    2. Drag and drop from real machine to virtual machine.

    3. Ability to create/restore snapshots in virtual machine.

The last two would be really cool for me.

    Disk and Networking needs work

I like the look and the light weight feel of the interface, but for me the thing that really lets this product down is the slow speed of the networking and especially the disk access, the amount of disk thrashing , even with a fixed image size in a lone scsi drive seems very poor compared to all other products out there.

I do hope this can be much improved apon in the future.

Nice product apart from that for me.

The edit function on here don't seem to be working,? and I never put it in my message wish lists and so to keep on the thread.

I would like to see as a wish.

    + Better network driver
+ virtual scsi driver maybe to improve disk performance?
+ Option to use physical and a partition as a hard disk

And what is your problem with networking driver? What guest OS do you use?

I'm working mostly with Windows XP guest with Parallels Tools installed and network performance is almost native on 100Mbit local connection...

I would also like to see using a disk partition as a harddrive. Save a lot of hassles copying files between linux and windows.

    2. Drag and drop from real machine to virtual machine.

    3. Ability to create/restore snapshots in virtual machine.

    I will second that.

list of wishes, please rate them

    Hi,

1/ drivers support for all MAC intel's embed hardware under XP inside the parallels tools software install (fast to install, one click for the whole package, no more huge downloads): sound, gfx card, keyboard, usb, CD / DVD burner and general driver support for all devices embedded by default into MAC: this way we will get fast and efficient sound reproduction, fast games rendering, @ and other kind of chars imossible to type inside Windows XP, usb scanner and key reading / writing, ability to use hard to find application like nero on the MAC. Wifi is also wanted. Native speed is really great. Remember to support all kind of Apple keyboards (not only UK / US)!

2/ drag and drop (or copy paste or mount a drive under OSX and share it with the guest OS) support for file exchange between guest and host OS

3/ Excellent eject CD support under parallels: now it's a bit complicated and slow, it requires under beta 3 to eject from the VM menu then to eject from Windows XP. Add eject from the CD icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen

    ps:

for those having slow network bitrate, please go to network connection and remove all things you don't really need as this add layers of code like windows client, ... And go to the hardware settings for the parallels network card and change to full duplex. Reboot XP, network should be faster.
