It appears Vista RTM simply does not work with the latest Beta of Parallels: Steps to Reproduce: - Install latest Parallels Beta - Install Vista RTM - Install Parallels Tools into Vista - Run Windows Update - Reboot Upon reboot, Vista hangs at the Windows launch screen with the scrollbar. Disabling the CD, Networking and USB devices does nothing. Any other thoughts?
The same thing happens to me... what I noticed is if I click the close window button, parallels Suspends the VM and closes the program... But, when I re-open Parallels and resume the suspended session, the Vista logo appears and then the desktop and everything seems normal. Hope that helps.
While I was writing the previous reply, I was uninstalling 'Parallels Tools' from Vista... at the end it asked me to reboot, clicked ok and Vista re-started fine... of course in a small window and the cursor 'trapped' inside of it. I'm going to re-install 'Parallels Tools' and see what happens. BTW, when I installed Vista, I used the 'WIndows Express Installation' where 'Parallels Tools' is installed automatically.
In my case everything works fine. Mac Pro 2.66ghz, 3Gb Ram and Parallels 3036 beta. No hangs at all with Vista RTM. Hi!
