I was having this problem before I installed the new Beta build today--and still having it.

When I open my Windows XP VM, I get a message that the Parallel tools are inconsistent with the version of Parallels, I try and do an install off the Action menu and nothing seems to happen or change and nothing is happeing with the coherence function...but other than than Windows and apps seem to be running smoothly--and much faster with the new build

Is there a way to uninstall teh existing tools and then reinstall or ???

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thnx all....

    Sharing your trouble...
I have the message about tools not consistant come up every time I use full screen and get back from a suspend. This was with the current release.
I did run the installer to uninstall and restated etc. and re-installed with restart and the problem did not go away. I upgraded to the latest beta, after again uninstalling tools and using the "wizzard" to do the install. I thought that all was OK but the message still comes up even though all seems to work OK.

Who has an idea how to fix this?

I think this has been posted in the forum before. It sounds familiar, but I don't recall for sure. Have you searched the forum yet? I'm not experiencing your problem so off the top of my head I don't know what it's gonna take to fix it. You might want to uninstall P.D. completely (saving you VM in a separate place) and re-install Parallels Desktop all over again. Make sure all your VMs are completely shut down before re-installing.

There may be a different solution, but I would think this would do it too.

You want to save the .pvs file and any .hdd files you've made hard drive images of.
