Just installed this beta , upgrade from 3036. It installed fine, but as soon as I installed parallels tools, XP crashed before the end of the installation routine (same after several attempts). Any ideas? I am not running bootcamp.

Reboot in safe mode (hold down F8 when you see the Windows logo) and then install Parallels tools again. I had a mess on my hands until I did that. Now it's fine.

Thanks, that worked. Beta really deserves it's name with this version:). It might be wise for the developers to post a warning to install parallels tools in safe mode. I could have easily trashed the VM.

I did not have any crashes updating from 1970 to 3094 (once I figured out how to retain my already installed Wincows XP Pro), but whenever I activate the VM I get a message saying that I am not using the correct version of Parallels Tools (which I never installed). However, everything seems to be running OK, and "Coherence" is installed. Do I need to be concerned about that message, and if so, how do I go about installing the right ones? I know that there is a disk image in the Library folder, but do I need to first uninstall anything, and then do I install all of the Tools?

    Crashing miserably for me

I am unable to install the Parallels Tools for 3094 on my Windows XP SP2. First time it crashed moments after starting the installer. In Safe Mode I get as far as the first screen of the installer wizard, hit Next and it crashes. I tried uninstalling the old Parallels Tools from Add/Remove Programs in case that made a difference, but the behaviour is the same.

I'm gonna step back down to the previous beta for the moment.

I have uploaded two crash reports via the app, but here's the skinny anyway:

I had a couple issues upgrading the tools on a MacBook and a MacBook pro this monring. What I ended up doing for both was uninstalling the tools from the add/remove program control panel. Once that was done I deleted the Paralles file from C:\Program Files

I then rebooted the VM and was able to install the updated tools for 3094.
