Does anyone have a working xorg.conf file for Kubuntu that supportd 1280x800 or 1440x900 for a MBP?
Ever since 3094 my Kubuntu Vm is stuck in 1024x768 or 1600x1200 and I can't for the life of me get anything else.

    TIA,
    Peter

3094 seems to break Xorg resolution support across all Linux distros and all Mac hardware platforms. If you need custom Linux resolution for full screen, you will need to downgrade to a previous build. Apparently no one has been able to find a solution on 3094 yet.

Actually I think I have found the solution. If I step down to 16 bit (instead of 24 bit) resolution I am able to get any resolutions I want. O use the following command line to setup everything instead of manually editting xorg.conf for resolution. You do have to edit it to change bit depth.

    sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver.conf

Stepping through this and then editting xorg.conf to choose the 16 bit resolution and now I can get any resolution in any distro I want.
