Hey guys I have 4 GB RAM on my mac, i run PS CS3 on Windows on my VM. the Windows system only has 512 RAM dedicated to it. CS3 flaked out when i was working on a huge file *1.4 GB* as it didn't have enough memory which stumped me at first until i caught the boot up screen of windows which reminded me how much RAM was for the windows guest system, is there any way to divert a little more than the default 512 RAM from my mac's memory ?? many many thanks
Gummybear008, Yes, it is possible. While having the virtual machine stopped, go to its configuration editor (Virtual Machine -> Configure), go to the Memory tab and increase it there.
thank you so much, the first person who replied to me on another forum thread gave me some advice but that didn't work when i checked the system information
setting not sticking! Hi, I'm running XP (SP3), and having a related memory issue. My MacBook has 4 GB installed, and addresses 3.something GB normally. With the VM stopped, I use the Manual memory setting and set the memory to something like 2048 GB (aside: does it actually have to be in powers of 2?). Yet, every time I restart the VM, the XP VM thinks it only has 512 MB (as listed in the System->General window of the Control Panel). Any thoughts on how I can get the value I set to actually stay put?! Thanks! -Josh
Come on, really? No one has ever had this problem before? Please, can a Parallels admin at least try to help?
