Every time I try to run parallels, windows starts, goes into disk checking mode and freezes about half way through. Locks up my computer and all I get is the spinning ball of death. Using Beta 3106, but it's been doing the same thing for the past several versions. I purchased Parallels when if first came out and have really never been able to use it. Should I uninstall and then try again?Any ideas? Thanks.
Can't believe that no one has any ideas to help me. Come on guys, there's gotta be somebody out there that can give me a suggestion or two about how I can get Parallels to run properly on my system. MacMini DualCore w/ 1gig ram. Anyone??
which Mac OS ? I am up to 10.4.8 I do have 2 gb RAM -- and allocate about 750 mb to Parallels virtual machines I would guess 400 might be good for your machine allocate about half the theoretical maximum too much ram slows Parallels down. which Windows ? mine did not work properly until I got a new WInXP sp2 OEM CD and made a clean install how is your win XP house keeping? auto update from Microsoft firewall ante virus Ad Aware SpyWare Blaster SpyBot search and destroy Hard Disk management -- cleaning caches / temporary files -- Defragmenting just because the Mac OS is so much neater does not exempt us from the usual attacks on WinXP Hugh W
Similar problem I have similar problems with the current Beta 3. I get the spinning beachball and can't do anything else. I'll probably go back to Beta 2 and see if that helps. There seems to be a few people with this problem, but I haven't seen a solution. I have tried removing the app, and reinstalling Beta 3, but that didn't seem to help.
