I'm using Parallels 3.0 on a Macbook Pro and running Windows XP to connect with server at work. Windows runs fine but I need Java in order to run other programs. When I attempt to download Java while in Windows I get a failure message. I also tried downloading Adobe Reader for Windows and got the same thing. Anyone know a workaround for this ?

Maybe it's a firewall/antivirus blocking the .exe? Or a network proxy/firewall that blocks .exes?

    That was it !!

Thanks Speciman. I checked the Mac Firewall. It was off. Then I went into Parallels>Windows XP>Control Panel>Firewall Security and changed some Extensions to accept any incoming applications. Java uploaded perfectly and then the other apps I use on my employer's server all started to work.

I have been without this since September. You've been a big help in steering me in the right direction.

    I'm glad I could be helpful. :)

But you should have at least your Mac firewall set to either 'Allow only essential services' or 'Set access to specific services and applications' if possible.
