Greetings! I'm trying to get the game Infamous 18 working and ... it's not.

I already had DirectX 9.0c installed, but some files are marked outdated (ddraw.dll, d3d8.dll, d3d9.dll), even after installing Parallels Tools.

I read elsewhere on this forum that DirectX 9.0c is not supported, only 8.1 (the latter of which is already on XP). I don't know if that's true or not but hopefully having 9.0c installed in tandem is not an issue. I wouldn't think it is - just using different DLLs.

As it is, Infamous 18 does not appear to work at all. The game requirements mention it's DirectX 9.0c compatible but it also doesn't mention that it's _not_ 8.1 compatible.

    Here are my test results:

The file PrlVideo.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

DirectDraw test results: Failure at step 5 (User verification of rectangles): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)

Direct3D 7 test results: All tests were successful.

Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 4 (EnumAdapterModes): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)

Direct3D 9 test results: All tests were successful. [Note: This was the "best looking test" compared to other Direct3D tests.]

    DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
    Direct3D Acceleration: Enabled
    AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available

Running on a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo with 3GB (host OS).

AMENDMENT: Interesting. The above tests were run with Parallels in Full Screen mode. If I used WINDOWED mode, all three Direct3D tests pass! DirectDraw still fails though - same step.

Could you please specify what build of Parallels Desktop you are using?

    spectre,

Sure (should have mentioned earlier) - it's v3.0 build 4560.

I'm having the same problem. the dxdiag says that AGP acceleration is disabled, thus my Lineage2 game pop up this message when I try to start

    ---------------------------
    Warning
    ---------------------------
The game may not be consistant because AGP is deactivated. Please activate AGP for consistancy.

    Update

A very brief update: Infamous 18 works (more or less) as of Parallels 4.x!

See post #1 in this thread for full context. Infamous 18 (golf simulator by AboutGolf) now works as of Parallels 4!
