I got a very strange problem. I have a winXP pro SP2 VM and it worked perfect with build 1970. However, after I install the build 3106, the windows can not see any CD/DVD drive no matter I use the iso image or the default CD/DVD. I tried to install new harddrive inside the windows and windows can not find any new device except for the video card (I can not install the new PT since windows does not use the iso either). If I try to make a new installation, the windows can find the CD/DVD. SO I know it is not the problem of Parallels desktop or my macbook. I can find the CD/DVD sometimes if I install a scsi driver to the windows and then scan for new device. BUt it could only find the virtual CD rom not the CD/DVD superdrive. however, If I uninstall build 3106 and reinstall build 1970, everything is fine again. Surely I can make a new installation and enjoy the USB2 support from the build 3106. But I really do not want to reinstall all the aplications: I just want to use my old virtual disk with the new build. Anybody can help?
I had the same problem. I fixed it by going to the Parallels toolbar. Devices cd/dvd-rom 1 and clicked on default cd/dvd-rom. It started up right away. hth.
