Last week my mouse suddenly stopped working in windows, I was able to use online help files to sort of fix that, but I used to be able to use the mouse across mac and windows seemlessly, now I have to constantly ctrl-alt out of windows. I read that this could be a problem with parallel tools (or I need to upgrade). So I uninstalled parallel tools and now I cannot reinstall it.

When I click action-> install parallel tools absolutely nothing happens - though if I go back up to action I have the option to cancel the non-happening installation. I have tried restarting both the virtual machine and my mac. I tried going to edit-> virtual machine and changing the cd-rom from 0:1 to 1:1 as I read on another forum, that also did not work.

Please understand that I am not so familiar with all the computer workings - though I am trying. I know that is not so welcome in these types of forums sometimes - but while I truly appreciate any help at all you can try and offer, please try to make it idiot friendly.

    Thanks so much.

    Hello,
Please follow the below mentioned procedure.
Go to Control panel => add or remove programs => Remove Parallels tools completely.
Turn off Anti - Virus and Parallels internet security.
Manually try to install Parallels Tools once again
On the Menu bar click on => Virtual Machine -> install Parallels Tools or Device -> CD-DVD ROM-> connect image -> Navigate to Machintosh HD-> Library-> Parallels -> Tools -> prl_tools_win.iso -> Click on continue and proceed with the installation.
