    Utility to fix Bug Check 0xA5 (ACPI_BIOS_ERROR) and 0x8E issues

    Guys,

    for those of you who experienced one of the following
    problems during PD 2.x/3.x -> PD 4.x upgrade:

    1. Bug Check 0xA5: ACPI_BIOS_ERROR
    2. Bug Check 0x8E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    we've prepared a small recovery utility -

    Parallels Fixme Utility

    Detailed description and usage -

    I. Bug Check 0xA5: ACPI_BIOS_ERROR

    The ACPI_BIOS_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x000000A5.
    This bug check indicates that the Advanced Configuration and
    Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS of the computer is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification.

    This bug check may appear in Parallels Virtual Machine during migration
    from Parallels Desktop 2.x/3.x to Parallels Desktop 4.x

    If you encounter this issue, follow these steps to resolve the ussue -

    II. Bug Check 0x8E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

    Under certain circumstances with a Windows XP / 2003 32-bit
    the following drivers may cause a Parallels virtual machine to crash -
    * intelppm.sys
    * processr.sys
    * P3.sys
    * agp440.sys

    This bug check may appear in Parallels Virtual Machine during migration
    from Parallels Desktop 2.x/3.x to Parallels Desktop 4.x

    If you've used this utility and faced some problems, please, post
    them here so we can help you to resolve your issue.

    Regards,
    Max

    Also worked for driver_unloaded error

    This appears to have fixed a similar crash on processr.sys with the error

    driver_unloaded_without_cancelling_pending_operations

    The terminal log is below.
