hello , i would need a little help with my problem.
I recently reinstalled os x with option archive & install. so all the installed software stayed unchanged. and it did. but when i tried to run parallels the icon in dock showed for a moment then disappeared. now i cannot start xp, and i dont want to reinstall because i have certificates for my online bank installed there and other unrecoverable stuff for which i havent made backup yet.
when i looked i Log files here is what it said:

    4/14/09 6:31:05 PM com.apple.launchd[126] ([0x0-0x32032].com.parallels.desktop.console[475]) Exited with exit code: 9
dont have a clue what thats about:(

    any help would be appreciated.
    thanks

Actually you can reinstall Parallels application itself without any problem since it does not touch the virtual machine.
Virtual machine itself is located by default in /Users/<username>/Documents/Parallels/
this is a .pvm file (in Parallels 4.0) or a folder with .hdd (the most important one) file inside.
If you are concerned, you can always backup the virtual machine by copying these files to some other place.
