    Hello all,

Our company has started using a Windows based database program. It works fine on a PC. On a Mac however, if the database application isn't used for about 10-15 minutes, the applications crashes because it looses its connection to the database server.

So it's almost as if Parallels is going to sleep and hence the database application is losing the connection to the server.

Any suggestions on how to avoid this? Thanks!

Well, first of all, if the connection to the server is required for an application (and responce from the serrver as well), then I would suggest to switch to bridged network mode (in Parallels 4.0: Configure -> Network adapter -> Bridged ethernet with a default adapter).

Also, if this seems like the application goes to the sleep mode, try checking the sleep mode settings both on Windows (right-click on a desktop -> properties -> Scren Saver -> Power, set all to "never") and Mac side (System preferences -> Energy saver).

It looks like changing the network setting fixed it! Thank you very much, that saves a lot of frustration.
