PD4.0 + Free Realms Flash-based game

Hey all,

Just installed PD4.0 with a copy of Vista (64-bit) and after it had the issue described below, tried a copy of XP SP3 (32-bit) and still same issue. I'm on a Fall '08, 2.4GHz Macbook.

I have Vista installed via Bootcamp and was using it to play this game. Works fine, but I am constantly irritated at rebooting to play the game and having to save all the open documents, etc etc. A friend of mine showed me that he had it working via Fusion, but it didn't run all that well. Did some research and saw the Parallels outperformed Fusion, so I purchased a copy and installed Vista on it (didn't like my bootcamp install for some reason).

All went well, installed Flash, game started and is much faster than in Fusion... BUT there is no text for dialog in the game or the inventory screen, etc.

I installed my XP SP3 and still the same issue.

I am having a hard time recalling, but I believe that all of the missing text may be from the same font definition. Is that possible? I tried Flash 10 and Flash 9, but same issue in both. Anyone else get it working with Free Realms or have solved a similar issue?

 

Free Realms actually runs in its own cliens which requires DirectX and calls on functions not yet supported by Parallels.
