I had, I think by default, the Home folder shared and showing in Windows Explorer as "\\.PSF\.Home\Documents...", which is what I want. I used Edit Virtual Machine / Shared Folders to turn off Home folder sharing temporarily, to debug a problem with a Windows app. Now I've turned it back on by re-checking Home folder, but it won't change the mapping. My Documents is still mapped to "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\".

I rebooted, I reinstalled Parallels Tools - nothing brings me back to where I was before switching off the Home mapping.

What am I missing, or misunderstanding, or doing wrong here?

I think I can answer my own question. When I turned off the Home folder mapping, I was greeted by a dialogue box telling me that if I proceeded I couldn't use Shared Profile. That meant nothing to me at the time, but I should have investigated. The Shared Profile configuration contains the option to map "Documents as My Documents in Windows". Which is what I want. But the "can't use" actually means that Shared Profile is disabled, and it isn't automatically re-enabled when you re-enable the Home folder mapping. Manually re-enabling Shared Profile got me back to where I was.

You'd think I would know or guess this stuff after 40 years in the business. Oh well.
