This is driving me crazy! All of the sudden (can't tell when started) I can't copy or move files from mapped Shared folders to VM (Vista Ultimate) ======================================= I get: Location is not available X:\ refers to a location that is unavailable... ======================================= All the shared folders are R/W and I am the Administrator and solo user. This is PD4 3844 and I have been using PD since inception. Even in the Mac desktop, I can copy files from mounted VM to Mac, but can't copy back same file to Windows? I searched high and low in the forum, can't find anything, am I the only one? Thanks for any help.
Hello kitesurfer, Please follow these steps mentioned here: 1) Go to start->control panel->add/remove programs. 2) Remove the Parallel Tools. 3) It will reboot after uninstall. 4) Again go to Virtual Machine->Install Parallel Tools. 5) This will install Parallel Tools and reboot. 6) It should work fine. Thank you.
Still the same Thanks for your response. Did exactly what you suggested. No changes. When I am copying from Mac to VM (on Desktop mounted disk) I get: ====================================================== "You may need to enter the name and password for an administrator on this computer to change the item ...... " I am the Administrator in both (Mac and VM). ====================================================== Any other suggestion Thanks again.
It's the filename I had the same problem and it's because I had a PERIOD in the filename. Check the length and characters in your folder/file name.
