Trouble installing 4.0

When I try to install 4.0 upgrade with System 10.5.7, I get to a screen that says shut down all virtual machines in 3.0 and the screen shows three different versions of Windows XP it says are running. When I open the parallels 3.0 program I go to shut down but it still shows these running. I seem to be out of options.

knowledge base article did not work?

I went to the Microsoft Windows XP folders as stated in article 5999 but there were no files ending in .mem or .sav All the files were applications. Should I be looking somewhere else?

Please try uninstalling Parallels desktop 3.0 using the build given below and then install 3.0 again. After the installation of 3.0 please try upgrading to 4.0.
