I have installed Beta 3 and everything works well. I have looked through the posts but cant find the answer ! Why can I not use my iSight built in camera on my MBPro in MSN Messenger in Windows using Parallels ??? Thanks
Do I need to repeat myself? (I guess I do.) The announcement page for Beta 3 clearly states that webcams aren't supported yet. Last time I checked, the iSight is a webcam.
No need to repeat yourself, he was replying to the previous statement that there was no Windows driver for the iSight, when in fact there is. By saying 'it should work' he means just that. It doesn't, but it should, once that type of USB device is supported in Parallels.
Interestingly enough I walked by the VMware booth at Macworld and they were *flaunting* webcam support. Hmmmmm. I walked by the Parallels booth too. I did not stop by cos its busy and I am a fully paid up customer - no need to sell me anything else!
I also walked by the VMWare booth today, and I witnessed their virtual machine running iSight unexpectedly crash. A little embarassing moment there.
iSight Support on the Way Yesterday, 11 January, O'Grady's PowerPage caught up with Benjamin Rudolph, Destop's product manager, at MacWorld Expo. The article, which can be found at http://www.powerpage.org/2007/01/mws...few_weeks.html, reports ,"The free update will include full USB and iSight camera support as well as improved 3D graphics and multicore processor support."
