Being able to boot into Safe Mode is good news.

Now, try to uninstall Avast while in safe mode and see if regular mode is working again. If it's not, try to uninstall Parallels Tools in safe mode. If booted fine in regular mode, try to install them again.

    Best regards,
    Tim

How do I uninstall parallels tools ? The Avast is not there since I did a system restore. Did that in safe mode now but still same problem. Tried to reinstall OS but it keeps rebboting into the 39min syndrome even though it is finalized. How can I reinstall the OS and still keep my applications so I do not have to reinstall those.
